Valuing companies, partnerships and valuations

Valuing companies, partnerships and valuations

Posted: 28/10/2019

I recently valued a company in a complex legal case in front of a High Court Judge as part of a long standing dispute between 2 brothers who both owned 50% of a company. My evidence was critical to the judge deciding on his judgement. Obviously i was cross questioned in court.

I am often asked to value companies usually for 2 reasons:

1. There is a dispute over the value of the company or the value of the shares.

When husband and wife divorce often the court requires to know from an independent specialist Chartered Accountant what it is worth and/ or what the individual shareholdings are worth.

Similarly if there is a partnership or shareholder dispute an independent accountant has to provide a valuation.

2.  When clients are buying or selling companies

For over 30 years I have advised clients on buying and selling companies. Obviously as part of buying or selling valuation is critical.

If you want a valuation or have clients/ contacts who require a valuation of a company or the value of the shares please contact me robertwilliams@corporatefinance.org.uk pr 07931 390271.
